Rather, it is the ability to accept all parts of our humanity and embodied experiences with compassion.

Dear Reader,
Life becomes overwhelming and painful at times.
It is an inevitable part of the journey.
None of us can escape the cuts and bruises on our path of growth.
BUT/AND/ALSO
We are given a choice to how we tend to these wound.
So, thank you.
Thank you for your Courage to behold the thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that often get shoved to the dark recesses of our psyche.
It is true, that not many people will choose to do this Work, which can trigger self-doubt, loneliness, and despair.
It is true, not many people will fully understand the overwhelm & fear that sometimes swallows us deep feelers.
Healing through feeling requires an incredible amount of resilience and strength to descend and rise…again & again & again…
I'd like to share with you a practice I have been relying on to re-source and calm my nervous system, so that I may come alongside the overwhelmed Parts with openness and compassion.
(I invite you to try this practice outside or by an open window.)
Step 1: Plant your feet upon the Earth - stomp your soles, wiggle your toes, feel the edges of your feet nestling in like a little seed.
Step 2: Begin to deepen and slow your breath. On the INHALE length your spine, as if the seedling you just “planted” is beginning to grow up, up, up, towards the sun. On the EXHALE, invite the overwhelm to flow down into the Earth and be composted into nutrients of your “roots.”
Step 3: Stay with this breath and visualization for 5-10 breath-cycles or until you reconnect to the sensation of the infinite flow between the inhale and the exhale.
Healing Affirmation:
"I am nourished and well-rooted. I am safe to grow."
With compassion
Love, Kristen
